A charity concert to raise money for S.O.P.H.I.E. (Stamp Out Prejudice, Hate & Intolerance Everywhere) a charity set up by the family and friends of the late Sophie Lancaster, to promote tolerance and understanding amongst young people. On Saturday 11th August 2007 whilst returning home, Sophie and her boyfriend Robert Maltby, a young couple from Lancashire, were savagely and senselessly attacked by a gang of teenagers. The couple, who did nothing to provoke the attack, were both beaten into a coma. Tragically Sophie never regained consciousness and died 2 weeks later, she was 20 years old. Police believe the cause for the attack was the gothic/alternative clothing and appearance of the couple. All proceeds of the event will go directly to the S.O.P.H.I.E. charity and the event has been approved by Sophie's parents. This concert features sets from: Abigail's Mercy, New Generation Superstars, Deviant U.K., Tin Omen, Reism, Beautiful Deadly Children and Necrotize. Plus a raffle of items donated by other bands and companies... Any donations of items for the raffle will be gratefully received please email charitygigs.dudley@googlemail.com The event is on a bank holiday weekend. Please invite people, it only takes a few seconds and even if it means you help us sel one more ticket that money will help do some good. for more information on Sophie Lancaster and the charity please visit www.myspace.com/inmemoryofsophie
